For a restaurant or food business, a walk-in cooler failure means lost product, a scrambled menu, and possibly a health inspection problem. The good news is that most walk-ins give warning signs well before they stop cooling.

First, temperature creep. If the box is holding a few degrees warmer than usual, especially in the afternoon or after deliveries, the system is struggling. Second, ice on the evaporator coil. Frost buildup blocks airflow and usually points to a defrost problem, a failing fan, or low refrigerant.

Third, a condensing unit that runs constantly or cycles on and off rapidly. Fourth, water on the floor or ice around the door, which often means worn gaskets or a door that isn't closing fully. Fifth, new noises from the fans or compressor.

Any of these is worth a service call before it becomes an emergency. We repair walk-in coolers and freezers, replace refrigeration systems that can no longer keep up, and handle emergency calls after hours when inventory is at risk.
